They Returned, 2019

Inspired by visions from a fever dream in 2019. It's amazing how a dream experience can bring the dreamer to the edge of a complex and traumatizing experience before returning them to the safety of their bed. Such was the experience that inspired this piece. Alone on a tiny barren island I was filled with dread, knowing that the inhabitants might return at any moment and would not be happy to find me on their tiny piece of land. I scanned the horizon looking for a way out of my predicament; then they returned.
