Every painting in the Minotaur's Dream series began as an exercise in automatic drawing. Without a predetermined subject, forms gradually emerged from tangled networks of brushstrokes until faces, beasts, and impossible anatomies revealed themselves. The resulting image resembles less a painting than an archaeological excavation of the unconscious, where every surface conceals another life struggling to emerge.

The title came afterward, once I recognized the image as a kind of interior labyrinth. The Minotaur, traditionally the monster imprisoned within the maze, becomes here the dreamer rather than the prisoner. Within its dream, identities dissolve into one another: human, animal, spirit, and landscape exist simultaneously. Like myth itself, the painting offers no single interpretation, but invites viewers to wander its passages and discover the archetypes that seem to awaken uniquely for them.
