The eye has long served as a symbol of consciousness, revelation, and divine witness. In Satyr's Eye, however, the eye belongs to no ordinary observer. It appears grown from bark, sinew, roots, and living earth, as though perception itself has become something ancient and untamed. The surrounding forms continually shift between vegetation, anatomy, and forgotten creatures, making it impossible to separate the seer from the world being seen.

The satyr, a figure suspended between instinct and reason, civilization and wilderness, becomes an emblem of the untamed imagination. Rather than depicting the creature directly, the painting suggests its presence through vision itself—as though we are looking through the eye of myth. The image asks whether the strange beings inhabiting folklore are inventions of humanity, or whether they are the very forces through which humanity has always perceived the unknown.
