“Monumental Discourse” presents two vast stone profiles set against a bright summer sky, their immensity evoking both myth and memory. The figures seem locked in eternal dialogue, their words weathered into silence. From the mouth of the left-hand face, a small flock of birds takes flight—fragile, fleeting expressions that contrast the weight of stone.
This work bridges the mythic and the dreamlike. In mythology, speaking statues or oracular stones often represent voices of the divine or ancestral wisdom. Here, the birds suggest that meaning, once spoken, escapes into the world as living spirit—fragile yet free, carried beyond the permanence of monuments. In dream-language, the painting captures the paradox of communication: heavy, immovable presences give rise to delicate, transient truths. The scene becomes a meditation on how language, myth, and memory endure not through stone but through the flight of ideas released into the open sky.
