This 12" x 12" painting began with the simplest gesture—tracing the artist’s own hand. From that outline, the wrinkles and folds of the skin gave rise to a host of mythic figures: a moon-headed dreamer, a horned demon, a skeletal king crowned in gold, a solitary cyclops, and a stoic bird. At the palm’s center, a single great eye gazes upward, as if awakening from the hand itself.

The work embodies the act of vision-seeking—the discovery of symbolic worlds hidden within ordinary forms. By transforming the natural map of the hand into a pantheon of archetypes, the painting becomes both a personal dream language and a meditation on how myth emerges from chaos. The hand, source of creation and craft, becomes a stage for inner deities and strange companions, each finger pointing toward mystery.
