In this nocturnal dreamscape, the town itself seems alive—each building a looming stone face, mouths agape as if whispering secrets to the night. Down the central street walks a lone wanderer in red, wizard-like, his small candle a fragile defiance against the dark. At the far end, a glowing, ghostly figure approaches, its radiance cutting a pale corridor through the shadows. From doorways and alleys, a throng of Bosch-like creatures gathers, their strange forms half-curious, half-hungry for the spectacle to come. The scene feels like a folktale paused at the moment of reckoning—a meeting of mortal and spirit under the watchful eyes of a living city, where the outcome may shift the fate of more than just the man with the candle.
Reverse: Returning to my theme of faces within faces; sketch for a future painting.
