View from the Past, seen from within an enormous eye, a smaller figure looks out in shock or recognition, caught between observer and observed. The eye becomes a threshold—memory watching the present, or the present intruding upon memory. Scale collapses: the past is vast, enclosing, and intimate all at once. This image speaks to the inescapability of remembrance and the way earlier selves continue to watch, judge, and haunt the present moment.
